About UNHEDS

UNIT OF HEALTH AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (UNHEDS) is a registered, non-profit civil society organization based in India, working to advance inclusive, sustainable and community-led development in alignment with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

UNHEDS focuses on health, nutrition, education and social awareness, with particular emphasis on preventive approaches, capacity building and localization of development efforts. The organization works closely with local communities, schools, anganwadi centres, grassroots institutions and volunteers to strengthen community systems and improve access to essential knowledge and services.

The core thematic alignment of UNHEDS includes:

  • SDG 2 – Zero Hunger (nutrition awareness, community outreach)

  • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being (preventive health awareness, community health initiatives)

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education (STEM education, digital learning, school support)

  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals (multi-stakeholder collaboration and localization)

UNHEDS is Darpan ID (UP/2023/0345599), and is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization, demonstrating its commitment to transparency, accountability and quality systems.

The organization operates on a non-profit, non-political and non-religious basis, and primarily engages in non-financial partnerships, serving as a local implementation, outreach and knowledge partner for government agencies, UN bodies, CSR institutions and development organizations.

UNHEDS believes that sustainable impact begins at the grassroots, and works to translate national and global development priorities into meaningful action at the community level.
